Party Bags & Pretty Bags...You Decide

Something To Celebrate??

Whether you want to make party bags or something to pop a special gift in - these little bags are fab and super easy to make!  Here's how...

Using the Stampin' Trimmer (129722) cut your Designer Series Paper (DSP) 11.5" x 6" and score at 1.5", 5.5", 7" & 11".  Turn & score at 1.5"  I used the Birthday Basics DSP (130145) in the photo above to make my daughter's party bags.  Sadly it's retiring at the end of the month (currently reduced in the retiring list) but there are some amazing DSPs coming in the new catalogue.  You can use your Stampin' Trimmer or the Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) - I like to use this if I'm doing lots of repetition scoring.  This time I've used Modern Medley (also retiring) to show you how versatile this template can be - this one's more of a gift bag.

Cut up to the score lines using Paper Snips (103579) and cut out the small rectangle in the corner (below).  Put Sticky Strip (104294) along the thin tab and also on the reverse of the large tab as shown in the photo to put the bag together.  Sticky strip is super strong but you could use Tombow glue (110755) or Snail (104332)

Adhere the long side to the body of the bag, then fold in the bottom tabs, smallest first, ending with the longer side with sticky strip on.  Once formed, pinch the sides of the top together - they will naturally form a crease down each side of the box.

You can choose to leave your bag open, punch a handle using the Large Oval Punch (119855) or tie with ribbon.  I've used 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Bermuda Bay (131206).  At Christmas I used a different method to tie the ribbon and added an embellishment to finish it off.  I love this little bag - you can achieve so many different looks!  All of the supplies used in my projects can be ordered from my shop - just go to my shop tab and follow the instructions. Now it's your turn!
